What Is Peggle 2?

If you've ever played pachinko, or saw plinko on The Price Is Right, you have a rough idea what this game is like. The idea is to bounce around x number of balls, to hit the orange pegs. Once hit, the peg will disappear. There are also a lot of blue pegs, which serve mainly to get in your way, green pegs that give you an extended pointer when you aim, and +purple pegs that give you extra points.

The game has been around since 2007. I won't go into it's history, since that's what Wikipedia is for. This blog is actually an accident. I forgot to turn off my EZ Cap when I finished working on my guide to Thief the other day, and just happened to turn Peggle 2 on to relax for awhile. Since I ended up recording some game play, I figured, why not put the clip up, for those that are curious about the game.

The clip that I posted was played on the Xbox One. The game is also available on other formats, including the Xbox 360. The previous version, Peggle, is available on PlayStation 3, as well as the Xbox 360.

Thief Chapter 3: Inside The House of Blossom

You're starting in a safe area, so relax. Just pull the lever that unlocks the doors, and walk into the entry way. There's a silver chalice there, so grab it and pull the next lever. Congratulations! Garrett has just entered his first brothel.

Either sneak past the sleeping guard, or take out an easy target. It's all up to how you want to play the area. The patrons and "employees" are very out of it, for one reason or another (like all of the opium that they're smoking). This means that you don't have to worry about them. T

here are a few guards around, so go slow as you loot. Snuff out any candle that you see. There are also some cabinets that you can hide in, if you're spotted. There's also a couple of half walls that you can climb up. If you do it unseen, you can do a drop attack.

After you got all the loot you can find, head up the next flight of stairs. The guard doesn't pay a lot of attention to his job, so when he looks over the railing, sneak attack him, and toss his body down the stairs. There's another guard on patrol, so use the climbing wall next to the stairs (towards the hiding bureau), and head up. There's an Emerald Circle there, so grab it as you go. Crotch down, and go through the small opening near the floor. There's an open trap door in the floor ahead that you can use to go back down.

Open the door that will be right next to you, and grab everything that you can. Exit back through the door, and head towards the curtain. As always, snuff the candles and grab the loot. If you start by heading left, you'll come across a chest of drawers blocking your path. DO NOT CLIMB IT! There is a "decorative" gap in the floor on the other side. You will plummet to your death. Instead, head back to where you came in.

You will also see a door at the bottom of some stairs if you headed left. Peek through the keyhold, and you'll get a cut scene involving your politician, and the house "madam." The politician is talking about why he has the right to raise taxes to the people's breaking point, why it's alright not to provide health care, etc. (INSERT YOUR OWN POLITICAL PARTY REFERENCE HEAR)

Thief Chapter 3: Reaching the House of Blossoms

Now that you have reached the brothel, you need to find your way in. The place is very exclusive, so don't expect to just bribe a doorman (especially since there isn't one). The first thing you should do is grab the plaque in front of you as you enter the area. It won't help you get in, but it's worth some money.

Follow your locator cursor until you hear the sound of people talking. This will lead you to the brothel. Of course, there's no way to swim across the moat like sewage channel, so you need to find the lever, which is conveniently placed next to the gap you need to cross. Don't forget to push the button on the nearby wall. Just use focus if you don't see either of them. Walk across, and press "X" to start the next part of the chapter.

The voices you hear now are that of the person you are trying to trail, and some guards. As always, sneak or snipe. It's up to you. I didn't have the patience, so I sniped the best I could. And remember, IF you have something equipped, like a throwing item, put it away before trying a silent take down. That's something I tend to forget about until I'm getting beat up.

Climb up to the large pipes, and use them to travel overhead. There's some treasure up there, so don't rush to complete the mission. then head back to the stairs, and slowly go down. If you have the wrench, open the gate and head to the overhead beams. If not, you'll have a slower journey. When it's time to drop down, watch out for glass on the ground. If you step on it, the guards will hear.

This can be used as a trap for the guards. After you step on the glass, run back to the grate, and hide inside. Go the beams, and you can do a silent drop on at least one of them. Grab the item that's on top of the barrel, and then put out some of the lights. As you can see in my clip, the gas lights can be broken, but it makes a lot of noise. If you don't want to use (or don't have) a water arrow, this will still help you. Remember, light and noise are your two biggest enemies in the game.

And as you can see, I didn't really need to put out the two lights that I did. LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES! I don't edit them out, and I am (mostly) playing this game for the first time. As such, you get to learn what NOT to do, as well as what to do.

Swoop past the guards and the politician that are just outside of the door. You can try to use a water arrow, but it's a waste of an arrow. The light will be re-lit right away. Instead, just swoop past them, head to the climbing spot, and over the wall. Just walk the beam in front of you, and hop down to the the door. You're in!

Defiance: The Game Intro

I have been using Defiance to test my new EZCap HD Video Capture Device (that's it's full name, not just a description). I will be doing a post about the game in general soon, as well as a review on the EZCap.

In the mean time, the game is FREE for the PC, Xbox 360, and the PS3. You can get it at either www.defiance.com or www.trionworlds.com. Please check it out, it's fun and FREE.

Did I mention that it's FREE? Trion should give me a free dlc for all the pushing I've been doing lately.
